Trying to Burn the Carbs

Yesterday, I woke at 8 in the morning but it was already noon when I finally convinced myself to get up and start my day.

My agenda for the day was to iron some clothes, do a bit of laundry, some minor bathroom cleaning, skype with my folks, and the activity that I have dreaming of for a week now... to do some exercise.

For you to understand how much of an effort exercise is to me, just think of this.

There are 24 hours in a day. I spend almost 23 of those hours either sitting or lying down. That means, I only assume the standing position for approximately an hour everyday. This routine is ony disrupted when I go to the mall for some grocery or shopping. Thus, I have acquired this lovely figure...

I used to have quick metabolism so I didn't have any problem with losing weight. I guess I just stopped moving around that is why the belly fat just kept on piling.

Going back to my story...

I read somewhere that beginners should start by walking five to 10 minutes at a time, gradually moving up to at least 30 minutes per session, but since it take 3,500 calories to lose a pound, I need to be more aggressive.

I was so proud of myself yesterday because not only did I jog through 2 episodes of 'Smallville' which is approximately 45 min each (with rest in between of course), I was also able to resist the Snickers bar that was on my bedside table the whole day and thanks to Cheng's goodwill I didn't need to clean the bathroom anymore.

CURRENT STATUS: 49k... still need to lose 4 kilos
